As announced by the WA Government, the Eased Transitional Restrictions for the Perth and Peel region are effective from 12.01am Tuesday July 6, until 12.01am Monday 12 July, pending ongoing health advice.
For community netball these will be applied as follows:
Outdoor Venues - Masks
Masks are not required outdoors when undertaking strenuous or vigorous exercise or physical activity (i.e., participating in or umpiring netball) but must be worn by all other patrons if physical distancing cannot be maintained.
Indoor Venues - Masks
The wearing of masks indoors is required unless patrons are engaged in strenuous or vigorous exercise or physical activity, (i.e., participating in or umpiring netball) or are exempt as per the latest WA State Government Directions.
Patron Limits
Outdoor and indoor venues are to abide by the two square metre capacity rule, up to a maximum 150-patron limit. Please note that players (participants), coaches, umpires, bench officials (scorers & timers) are not included in the 150-patron limit, however spectators are.
Indoor fitness classes are also permitted.
Gold Industry Group WA Netball League
Netball WA has made the decision to have no spectators at Round 11 of the GIG WANL on Friday, July 9, at the Gold Netball Centre (GNC) and the GNC kiosk will not be open.
The ECU Souwest Jets versus Western Roar fixtures in Eaton will also be able to proceed subject to the mask-wearing requirements outlined below.
Travel from Perth and Peel Region
Anyone who travels outside Perth and Peel or has been in those regions since Sunday, 27 June is required to wear a mask subject to the same mask wearing requirements as those in Perth and Peel. Please refer to the latest WA State Government Directions for further details.
Other
A reminder to continue to follow the Netball WA Hygiene Protocols and WA State Government contact tracing protocols, with resources found HERE.
If you have attended a known exposure site or are feeling unwell, please do not attend any netball venues and get tested as soon as possible at a COVID Clinic.
We greatly appreciate the steps taken by everyone involved with netball, especially our volunteers, to quickly act and communicate evolving COVID requirements to participants. We can all be proud that we have contributed to making our community safer during these challenging times.
Netball WA will continue monitoring State Government updates and provide further information to the netball community as soon as possible.
