Comets 48 defeat Warriors 45
The Warriors took the first lead, with Toby Fountain opening the game strongly in Goal Shooter.
Resultantly, the Comets came back from the first break with a fire, winning the quarter by four goals as Griff Thomas went to town under goal.
Comet Marcus Cronan was also key to pushing the side ahead with 15 individual goals to pair with Thomas’s 33.
The Warriors never backed down, Frederick Taylor scored nine and Jayden Kahotea joined with two.
The side had to keep Dravyn Lee-Tauroa in Goal Keeper, despite his usual style of being able to switch into goals.
With seven minutes remaining in the game, the sides were even on 42 goals a side. With a chance to play for a premiership on the line, Griff Thomas locked in firing off goals and countering the efforts of the Warriors to secure the win.
