Congratulations to the Comet’s Wade Moore on 100 GIG WANL games and umpire Jessica McKemmish on officiating her 100th game.

Western Roar 50 defeat West Coast Warriors 48

Warriors and Roar delivered one of the closest games of the round, with Warriors taking a narrow lead early despite strong defensive pressure from Roar. The second quarter saw Roar lift their intensity and go goal for goal with Warriors, with Parsons starring through the midcourt and Zoe Harper converting important rebounds under the post. Asiata was influential for Warriors, while Roar defenders Saggers and Petkovic produced several crucial intercepts.

The teams entered the third quarter tied at 29-29, setting up a thrilling finish. Strong defence, accurate shooting and quality ball movement kept the scores close throughout, but Roar managed to edge ahead in the final minutes. With just 30 seconds remaining, Parsons converted a crucial shot to help secure a dramatic two-goal victory for Roar.

Demons 56 defeat Comets 53

Demons delivered a strong performance against Comets, controlling much of the match with consistent defensive pressure and a powerful attacking unit. Their strong start helped establish an early lead, which they maintained through much of the contest. Gallagher was a standout performer, shooting accurately and consistently under the post throughout the game.

Comets refused to back down, gradually working their way back into the match and mounting a determined challenge in the final quarter. With just minutes remaining, the margin was reduced to only a few goals, setting up a tense finish. However, Demons remained composed in the closing stages to hold off the late surge and secure a hard-fought 56-53 victory.

Fremantle Sharks 68 defeat Rangers 42

Fremantle Sharks produced a commanding performance against Rangers, opening the match with an eight-goal lead in the first quarter and maintaining that momentum across the full game. Their strong start set the tone for the contest, allowing them to control the pace and build pressure as the match progressed.

Aisha Morcombe was again a standout for Sharks, delivering a dominant shooting performance with 43 individual goals. With Sharks currently sitting fourth on the ladder, the 68-42 victory provides an important percentage boost as they continue to strengthen their position in the competition.
