Demons 56 defeat Sharks 51

After Sharks controlled the early stages of the opening quarter, Demons responded well to keep the contest tight, matching them goal for goal in an entertaining start.

The second quarter belonged to Demons, who turned the momentum with relentless defensive pressure and slick attacking play. Sharks fought their way back into the contest during the third quarter, but Demons’ defensive unit remained outstanding, forcing the Sharks to work hard for every goal and continuing to win crucial turnovers.

Despite a determined final-quarter effort from Sharks, Demons held their composure to finish strongly and claim a deserved 56-51 victory, built on exceptional defensive pressure and a complete team performance.

Warriors 63 defeat Lightning 35

Warriors made their intentions clear from the opening centre pass, racing out to an early lead with a flurry of goals and setting the tone for the contest. Goal shooter Zoe Harper was in outstanding form, consistently converting difficult opportunities and proving a constant threat in the circle. Despite some impressive saves and intercepts from Lightning’s goal keeper, Warriors maintained control with strong attacking connections and relentless pressure across the court.

The second quarter saw Warriors tighten their grip on the match, with their defensive unit creating crucial turnovers, highlighted by a brilliant intercept from the goal keeper. That defensive intensity never dropped, as Warriors continued to dominate throughout the second half by winning rebounds, intercepting passes and limiting Lightning’s scoring opportunities. Their sharp ball movement and composed finishing capped off a commanding performance, with Warriors securing a convincing 63-35 victory.

Comets 70 defeat Rangers 38

Rangers have still struggled to keep pace this season, and Comets took full advantage by coming out of the gates swinging. Aitua Enari was once again impressive for Comets, leading the way with 48 individual goals, while experienced goal attack Sloan Burton provided strong support with 17. Rangers worked hard across the court but were unable to consistently convert their opportunities into goals, allowing Comets to remain in control and secure a dominant 70-38 victory.

Roar 60 defeat Jets 32

Roar continued to share the scoring load effectively, with Sophia Lamers leading the way with 35 goals, supported by Asha Parsons with 13 and Mia Burton with 12. Their variety in attack kept the Jets’ defence on their toes and made it difficult to shut down one clear target. Roar’s win was also no doubt helped by the return of West Coast Fever 11th player Caitlyn Brown in goal defence, adding strength and experience to their defensive end. For Jets, 21/U athlete Lily Knight was their highest individual scorer with 19 goals, but Roar’s all-round pressure and attacking balance proved too strong as they claimed a convincing 60-32 victory.
