Open: Western Roar v Hamersley Comets
The undefeated Western Roar will be looking to go one step further this year, taking the trophy over the Comets to solidify their perfect record for 2024.
In 2023, the Hamersley Comets who sat second under Roar all season, pulled off a four-goal win to take home the premiership. The side will be looking to repeat this performance on Friday to become back-to-back premiers.
Roar are yet to lose a game in 2024, claiming dominance all the way to their four-goal Qualifying Final win over the Comets.
Every clash between the two sides this year has been within a margin of six goals or less, meaning it could be anyone’s game on Friday night.
The shooting powers of league leader Sophia Lamers and West Coast Fever Training Partner Emma Putt will be a keen focus of Comets defenders Liz Dronfield and former Queensland Firebirds and Sunshine Coast Lightning player Ashlee Unie.
The Comets experienced shooting side of Madeleine Ash and Fever Premiership Player Emma Cosh will be fighting hard to get around Roar’s combination of 2022 Jill McIntosh Medallist Caitlyn Brown and Chelsea Bartlett.
It’s a battle of the captains in the mid court when the experienced Lindal Rohde supported by Georgia Morgan and Clara Wigley, face off against Fever Training Partner Zoe Cransberg and her team of Brittany Turnbull and Cleo Kenny.

21/U Southside Demons v Western Roar
It will be a replay of the Qualifying Final in the 21/U Division as the Southside Demons will be looking to extend their winning run against the minor premiers, the Western Roar.
Roar defeated the Demons in round five, but in the two meetings since, it has been the Demons who secured the points.
Keep an eye on both team’s goal ends with both squads known for their high scoring. The last time the Demons played, Chelsea Cook took home a massive40 goals, whilst Roar’s Aisha Morcombe scored 52 in the Preliminary Final, so the Grand Final has the makings of a high scoring game.
Teagan Begovic and Ashley Mobilia will go head-to-head in Roar’s goal end whilst Emily Rivers takes on Georgia Ettridge in the Demons side.
Roar’s mid court of Charisse Rond, Teddi Lowe and Christe-Lee Griesel will be looking to outrun Demons Madison Austen, Sienna Timmermans, Amber Passera and Holly Denholm.
The Roar last secured the 21/U premiership in 2022 as part of the Club’s historic treble when the competition was for 20/U. You need to go back to 2007 for the Demons’ last taste of success at underage level, when they won the 18/U premiership.

Men: Western Roar v Hamersley Comets
In the Men’s Division, the undefeated Western Roar and Hamersley Comets will face off in the big dance.
The two sides have played each other four times throughout the season with Roar taking the win each time.
Their closest clash was two weeks ago in the Qualifying Final with Roar winning their way to the grand final by just three goals.
In Round 15, the margin was 32 goals in favour of the Roar so if the Comets can improve their game once again, the grand final is well and truly anyone’s game.
Roar’s shooting side consisting of Stuart Dent and Max Denholm will face Comets defence of Guy Ramsay, Wade Moore and Liam Bailye.
Roar’s Tom Gorman, Logan MacGregor and Ian Brady will go head-to-head with Joel Anderson, Mitchell Walker and Jack Davis.
Marcus Cronan and Griff Thomas from the Comets will need to work their way around the Roar defence of Dravyn Lee-Tauroa and Tom Harper.
The Roar have won three of the last four premierships and a win on Friday Night will see them go back-to-back-to-back which has only been done once before in the history of Men’s GIG WANL, when Coastals achieved in between 2002 and 2004.
The Comets will be out to win their first Men’s GIG WANL title.
