Round 10 of the Gold Industry Group WA Netball League was Belt Up Round, in partnership with the Insurance Commission of WA to promote the important message of seat belt safety.

Rangers 57 defeated Lightning 47

In what was a close match-up, the Rangers managed to take home a 10-goal win against the hard fighting Peel Lightning.

Ranger Georgia Pitt was a star in goals, her long-range shots an asset to her team, especially when she’s reaching 42 goals alongside Abbey Hicks’ 15.

Rangers’ strong work around the circle was crucial to the side’s win, with Kathryn Byrne in Wing Attack and Chelsea Meade in Centre feeding easily into their goalers.

Lightning didn’t let the Rangers take the win easily, Kasey Ridout took home 33 goals, Rebecca Lill 13 and Cherie Miller with one.

The team’s defence was strong with Rebecca Nitschke providing good pressure in Wing Defence and Belinda Lowe in Goalkeeper achieving some impressive intercepts.

Roar 68 defeated Jets 36

The Western Roar once again exercised their dominance this week, taking down the Souwest Jet by 32 goals.

Roar came out strong in the first quarter, taking a 13-goal lead and prompting the Jets to fight hard in the second.

Roar’s Sophia Lamers pushed her way to the top as leading goal scorer with 43 goals, while Asha Parsons achieved 20 and Devin Cunninghame had five.

Zoe Cransberg’s ability to read the play and get the ball into the circle was a pivotal part of the side’s success.

The Jets fought a hard game with Rylee Hall taking 27 goals, Bianca Grickage with seven and Brooke Gibson with two.

Sharks 53 defeated Warriors 41

The Fremantle Sharks cemented their third place on the ladder against the fourth-placed West Coast Warriors with their 12-goal win.

The game was close between the two sides except for the third quarter, where the Sharks took their 12-goal lead and managed to maintain it for the rest of the game.

Shark Larrissa Harrison once again went out and scored high with 38 goals, alongside partner Sophie Eastaugh (14) and Indi Storm (one).

Despite not being able to secure the win, the Warriors fought strong with the consistency of Jamaica Jauncey’s scoring keeping the team in the game.

Jauncey took home 20 goals, Hana Stokes 12 and Emily Dwyer with five.

Comets 49 defeated Demons 46

A close game between the second and sixth on Tuesday once again demonstrates the talent of every side in the league with the Comets only taking a two-goal win.

The winner of each quarter swapped throughout the game, both sides had to fight until the very last minute.

Comet’s trio in goals impressed with Madeline Ash scoring 27, Emma Cosh with 17 and Giselle Taylor with five.

Demons Meg Gallager and Ashleigh Cupido managed 16 goals each, supported by Nikala Cox with 14.

In a very quick turnaround for the athletes, Round 11 kicks off Friday night and will continue on Sunday.

If you can’t make it either day don’t forget you can watch on Streamer.
