Netball WA and West Coast Fever are assessing options for the Western Sting following today’s announcement that the Australian Netball Championships (ANC) will be played in a decentralised format this year, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to present significant challenges for sport.
While disappointing that the championships, which were due to be played from September 13 to 19, cannot go ahead in Traralgon, Netball WA and West Coast Fever look forward to working with Netball Australia to explore localised opportunities.
Where possible, these will be in line with the original September dates, in continuing to enable high-performance progression of athletes, coaches, umpires and officials in a coronavirus impacted environment.
An ANC winner will not be declared for 2021, with more details on the decentralised program to be communicated once confirmed.
