2022 Fuel to Go & Play Association Championships

The 2022 Fuel to Go & Play Association Championships, which is the largest community netball event in Western Australia, will be held in Perth this long weekend with more than 3200 players travelling from across the State to participate.

The Fuel to Go & Play Association Championships form part of the Netball WA competition pathway and are held annually to provide a representative opportunity for Associations’ players, coaches, officials, managers and administrators.

This year 3,288 players and 284 umpires from 41 Associations across Western Australia will participate in 39 divisions catering for 274 teams from 12U through to Masters at the Gold Netball Centre and Perth Netball Association in Jolimont on June 4, 5 & 6.

This will include four teams in a Men’s division and 11 teams in a No Limits division for players with an intellectual disability.

The event will commence with an opening ceremony at 8.15am on Saturday, June 4 and conclude with a closing ceremony at 3pm on Monday, June 6.

Key Timings:

Saturday, June 4:

8:00am Opening Ceremony (PNA 8 and 9)

9:45am – 1:30pm Men’s Rounds

2:15pm Men’s Finals matches

Sunday, June 5:

9:30am – 2:15pm No Limits Rounds

2:30pm No Limits Finals matches

Monday, June 6:

10:00am Hub 1 Finals matches

11:00am Hub 1 Presentation (GNC 1)

2:00pm Hub 2 Finals matches

3:00pm Hub 2 Presentation and Closing Ceremony (GNC 1)

Netball WA General Manager – Community Netball Liz Booth said the Fuel to Go & Play Association Championships were always a highlight on the netball calendar and thanked everyone involved in making the event possible.

“Healthway, promoting the Fuel to Go & Play message, the Gold Industry Group, the Insurance Commission of Western Australia, promoting the Belt Up campaign, the University of Western Australia, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, the Town of Cambridge and the Perth Netball Association are terrific supporters of this event,” Ms Booth said.

“With the support of our partners and all the volunteers, officials, umpires and players that travel to participate, the Association Championships provides a fantastic opportunity for players and officials from across the State to come together on the netball court and enjoy three days of fun in Perth.”

“The event is also an important opportunity for develop, mentor and identify talented players, coaches and umpires, as well as a great chance for Associations to measure their progress against other Associations.”

“I am really looking forward to another long weekend of netball and seeing everyone enjoying themselves at the 2022 Fuel to Go & Play Association Championships.”
