The Gold Industry Group West Australian Netball League (WANL) season culminated on Saturday evening when West Coast Warriors shooter, Donnell Wallam, took home her first Jill McIntosh Medal.

See how the players and teams fared in this year’s count.

 Fast Facts

  • A total of 252 votes were awarded across the Jill McIntosh Medal count, with a total of 51 players polling votes.
  • The Jets, Rangers, Sharks and Warriors all had eight players poll votes, while the Roar had seven and the Comets and Demons had the least with 6.
  • The Warriors polled the most votes as a team, totalling 56. Winner Donnell Wallam and runner up Stephanie Cooper finished with 55% of their team’s votes.
  • The Comets polled the lowest amount of votes as a team with 19.
  • The Demons polled one more vote than last year (31 to 32), while the Warriors polled 18 more votes (38 to 56).
  • The Rangers polled nine less votes than last year (46 to 37).
  • The Jets polled the same amount as last year (32).
  • The most consecutive amount of games polled in was five by Brittany Turnbull, who polled in Rounds 9-13, where she collected 11 of her 13 votes.
  • For the second consecutive year, the runner up has finished on 15 votes.
  • Winner Donnell Wallam and runner up Stephanie Cooper polled in the most games, recording votes in seven games, despite Wallam only polling maximum votes in two games
  • Donnell Wallam’s 16 votes would have placed her second in the 2018 count
  • Multiple players polled the most number of best on court performances, which was three. Steph Cooper, Hayley McKee, Grace Parker and Sunday Aryang all polled maximum votes in three games.
  • The Jets, Rangers and Warriors were the only teams to take all six votes. All teams did this on two occasions, with the Jets achieving this feat in Rounds 1 and 11, the Rangers in Rounds 7 and 8, and the Warriors in Rounds 5 and 14.
