Great Southern Regional Championships
The Great Southern Regional Championships, presented by the CBH Group took place across the end of July at the Albany Leisure & Aquatic Centre.

The Great Southern Regional Championships, presented by the CBH Group took place across the end of July at the Albany Leisure & Aquatic Centre.

12 and Under 

The 12 and Under division was packed, including two pools and eight teams. 

It was in the Semi Finals that margins started to become closer, Albany 12U green and Denmark 12U both fought their way into the Grand Final. 

After winning all three of their regular games, Albany 12U Green came out on top in the Grand Final with an eleven-goal win.

14 and Under

The 14 and Under was another big division with 10 teams and two pools. 

Out of all 10 teams it was once again an Albany v Denmark showdown in the Grand Final. 

In a particularly close contest, Denmark came away with a fantastic one goal win.

Results: 

16 and Under 

The 16s division was made up of teams from Esperance, Albany, Denmark, Narrogin and Katanning competing across five rounds. 

After both their strong performances during the weekend, Albany and Esperance made their way into the Grand Final. 

The two sides met in the first round with Albany going down to Esperance by 14 goals. Their second meeting was the Grand Final and although Albany narrowed the margin, it still wasn’t enough to get around Esperance’s three goal win. 

Results: 

20 and Under

The 20 and Under division included teams from Denmark, Narrogin, Esperance and two squads from Albany. 

The two Albany sides started the weekend facing off and drew, an impressive display of the Association’s talent. 

It was the Albany 16U Green side and Esperance who made the Grand Final. After a dominant weekend, it was Albany Green who took a 16-goal win.

Open Division

The Open Division was an incredibly high scoring competition. Some notable final scores included Albany Green with 83 goals, 100 and 74 as well as Esperance with 79 and 80.

After such a high scoring weekend both Grand Finals were highly competitive. The Division two Grand Final trophy went to Denmark by three goals and Division one went to Albany Green by seven.
