The Divas have taken out the 2022 Goldfields NAIDOC Netball Carnival held in Kalgoorlie, in an event which witnessed a number of closely contested games.

Rekiesha Sambo was adjudged as the grand final MVP as the Divas 20 defeated Majestic 12

Eight teams participated in the carnival which helped to promote this year’s NAIDOC theme ‘Get up, Stand Up, Show Up’.

Sariah Champion was awarded the newly established Mara Gurdurdu ‘Hand Heart’ Award for the overall MVP.

The award is presented to a player from each age division that demonstrates a commitment to the following statement: With my hand on my sacred heartbeat, I promise to have a good heart and a kind spirit in all that I do in life and in the game of netball to play in the true spirit of the game with teamwork, fairness, and commitment. With my hand on my heart, this is my promise to the club and myself.

Netball WA would like to acknowledge the support from Eastern Goldfields Netball Association, Kalgoorlie OASI and thank the Goldfields NAIDOC Netball Carnival Working Group.
