Kalamunda & Districts and Wanneroo Districts Netball Associations have come together to support boys in netball for the 2020 Fuel to Go & Play Association Championships.
By combining forces, the Boys teams have received extra value for their Championships this year, with a series of exclusive specialist training clinics ahead of competing on Monday in an Exhibition Match.
Organised by Kalamunda & Districts Development Coordinator, Lynn Gay and led by a group of male netball talents in the WA netball community, the two-hour clinics focused on developing game play skills.
“To be able to compete in an Exhibition Match at the biggest carnival in the state is very special for our boy athletes,” said Lynn.
“It demonstrates that there is a pathway for younger boys and they don’t have to stop at 12, only being able to reconnect with netball as adults in a social league.”
“Not only is it great for our players but it exposes other Associations to the level of skill boys can bring to the game and encourages them to get on board.”
“These boys are the future of men's netball and its important they recognise that a netball career is a possibility, not just as a player but also as a coach or umpire.”
The Boys Exhibition Match will see both teams go head to head on Monday at 1pm at the Gold Netball Centre.
