Ten West Australian athletes have been selected in Netball Australia’s National Pathway Squads for 2024.

WA secured two medals at the recent National Netball Championships and the selection of 10 athletes adds weight to the strength of the State’s performance.

Netball WA would like to congratulate the following athletes on their selection:

19/U: Georgie Cleaver, Aitaua Enari, Scarlet Jauncey and Charisse Rond.

17/U: Teagan Begovic, Kate Cunningham, Halle Richards, Emily Rivers, Ebony Stewart and Clara Wigley.

Netball WA Talent Coach Guy Keane said: “We’re proud to have so many home grown athletes selected in national squads. It’s a great reflection of the strength of our pathway to identify, support and celebrate our athletes ensuring a thriving pipeline of West Australian talent.

“National selection is a tremendous outcome for our athletes as they have been able to demonstrate their commitment, hard work, and talent on a national stage. This is an exciting opportunity to continue their development and empowers to grow their championship material.

“Our High-Performance Plan speaks to being ‘courageous’ and ‘thinking bold’ in our pursuit towards ‘sustained success’. We will celebrate and reflect on our recent achievements, to identify and acknowledge the things we are doing well and that we can call our strengths, as well as dig deep into the areas that we know we must continue to work on and improve.”

Netball Australia will deliver training camps across July for the selected athletes as an opportunity to develop their skills and train in a high performance environment. Both camps will be held at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.
