Netball WA’s Community Facilities Fund grants have been awarded to Netball Clubs and Associations across the state to support the future growth of the game.
2021 has seen Belmont Netball Association, Lake Grace Pingrup Netball Club, Narrogin & Districts Netball Association, Perth Netball Association, Geraldton Netball Association and Fremantle Netball Association successfully secure grants to upgrade their facilities.
Every year, the WA netball community supports the Netball Community Raffle which sees 40% of the proceeds go into the Community Facilities Fund.
The Fund is available to Regions, Associations and Clubs to apply for funding for the development or re-development of their facilities or purchase of key Netball infrastructure equipment.
Netball WA General Manager of Community Netball, Liz Booth said the Community Facilities Fund is a great initiative for Regions, Associations and Clubs.
“Netball WA is committed to supporting grassroots Netball and growing the sport in Western Australia,” said Booth.
“Through initiatives like the Community Facilities Fund, Netball WA ensures netball in both metro and regional areas have access to quality facilities to support their current and future participation needs.”
Since the Netball Community Raffle’s inception, almost $100,000 has been injected into the Community Facilities Fund, with Regions, Associations and Clubs utilising this money for a variety of projects ranging from resurfacing netball courts, to the development of supporting infrastructure such as lighting and club rooms and general court equipment such as goal posts and goal posts pads.
