Netball WA is pleased to announce the 2019 Aboriginal Youth Gala Day will be held at a new venue, the Swan Districts Netball Association, on the 7th April.
This round robin competition is open to all junior Aboriginal community teams and aims to provide an opportunity for players to show their skills in a competition environment.
Since the inaugural carnival, held in 2009, it has grown in stature and become one of the most important events on Netball WA’s calendar.
This year, the event continues to grow as we’ve opened registrations to include male teams in the U18 division, giving young males the opportunity to refine their skills and get involved!
“The carnival is a celebration of culture and community with a focus on participation and fun, no matter your netball or sporting experience” said Netball WA Participation Manager, Kobie Combes.
“The Aboriginal Youth Gala Day is the perfect event to bring together many teams far and wide to showcase the high level of talent among our Western Australian netballers and we encourage your school, group or club to enter a team” said Combes.
Please note, there must be a minimum of 5 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people per team on court at any one time.
