Netball WA Appointed Board Member

The Netball WA Board is seeking an individual to join the Board in an initial 2-year term as an appointed Director, with the capacity to be reappointed for a further 2 x 2-year terms.

Netball WA is the peak body for Netball in Western Australia serving 45,000 members and over 221,000 participants across the state. Netball WA is also the sole member of its two subsidiary companies; Glass Jar Australia delivering the Shooting Stars – Education through netball program to over 300 young indigenous women, and the West Coast Fever Netball Club delivering the West Coast Fever elite netball team playing in the Suncorp Super Netball competition.

The Netball WA Board oversees a consolidated budget of just under $12 million dollars and a workforce of over 65 fulltime staff across the three organisations. View the 2017 Netball WA Annual Report.

Netball WA has recently adopted a new constitution at its 24 March 2018 Annual General Meeting which will see the 11 regions be absorbed into Netball WA’s operations and the voting membership be passed down to Tier 1 Associations. Netball WA will subsequently develop 9 regional offices across the state for roll out in 2019. Click here for more information.

Netball WA, along with its two subsidiaries, has a clear Vision to be the sport of choice in Western Australia and clear purpose of advancing netball, advancing communities.  Our values of innovation, professionalism and collaboration are being embedded across our organisation from Board to staff and through to our countless number of volunteers.

Supporting this direction is a new Netball WA Strategic Plan, which was recently launched alongside our 2018-2019 Innovate RAP and a new High Performance Plan for the sport. These three key documents can be found here.

Appointed Board Member - Expression of Interest Form


The Netball WA Board is seeking an individual to join the Board in the capacity as an Appointed Director. Moreover the Board has discussed the need to commence a search for a President to replace the current position held by Deane Pieters (whose maximum term on the Netball WA Board expires in May 2019) and that this Appointed Director position may provide an opportunity to identify a suitable replacement at the end of the first year of appointment, should a President replacement from within the existing Directors not be elected.

The Board and Appointments committee is seeking individuals with extensive experience in one or more of the following areas:

– Public identity across the Western Australian political and corporate communities;
– Strong business experience with broad networks across industry/s;
– Previous directorship experience in the not for profit sector;
– Previous chair experience;
– Strong leadership skills;
– Demonstrated relationship management experience with Board – Executive and Executive – membership; and
– Ability to drive the Strategic direction and key organisational outcomes;
