Community TAB’s Sport Grant boosting WA Netball Clubs

Netball clubs and associations throughout WA have the chance of a cash boost thanks to Community TAB’s Sports Grant Program, helping ensure local sport continues to thrive.

Community TAB has supported the Western Australia sporting landscape for a number of years, assisting peak bodies such as Netball WA.

Earlier this year, Tom Price Netball Association received a $4000 grant which has gone towards uniforms and player development.

Cuballing Netball Club, also received a cash injection from Community TAB and as each month goes by another grant will be offered to a sporting club.

General Manager Community TAB Matthew Thomas said Community TAB recognises the importance of grass roots sport throughout WA.

“We understand that it takes time and resources to keep a club running so we are pleased to be giving the opportunity to help relieve this burden on clubs, and that the grant also benefits the local communities as a result,” he said.

“RWWA has been supporting the WA sport and recreation industry for many years, providing millions of dollars over 10 years to the Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR) and, more recently, through Community TAB sponsoring the WA Football League, WA Integrated Football Program and our partnership with Netball WA.”

Recently, Community TAB was on the ground for Netball WA’s Academy and Cadet Cups, where more than 70 teams took part, attracting over 1,000 players, coaches, umpires, officials and spectators.

Netball WA CEO Simon Taylor said the partnership has seen a resource boost for participants living in regional Western Australia.

“There’s thousands of netball clubs, volunteers and participants that do amazing work across WA and thanks to Community TAB clubs have the chance to receive a grant which can help them continue to nurture talent,” Taylor said.

“We would like to thank Community TAB for their ongoing support of grassroots netball and helping Netball WA achieve its purpose to advancing netball, advancing communities.”

Community TAB proudly promotes the Corporate Social Responsibility of Racing and Wagering WA by giving back to the WA community.
