KidSport enables West Australian children to participate in community sport and recreation, no matter their financial circumstances. Eligible youth aged 5–18 years can apply for financial assistance to contribute towards club fees. The fees will go directly to the registered KidSport clubs through their participating local government.
A report from November 2014 unveiled that 6,138 children had taken to netball courts around Western Australia with the aid of KidSport since the commencement of the program in September 2011. Almost half of those children had not previously been registered with a netball club.
A total of 8,459 vouchers have been used throughout 104 Local Governments to play with 406 netball clubs and associations.
