Program Snapshot

The Cadet Cup is a 2-day competition that provides an avenue for players aged 13-17 in the Cadet Program, to transfer and implement their skills in match play against other regions. It is a development opportunity for coaches and umpires to learn and apply their skills at the next level. The program underpins the “Develop A Diamond” Regional Academy Program and State Representative programs. The Cadet Cup provides an avenue for Netball WA selectors to view athletes, coaches and umpires in a competition environment.

The purpose of the Regional Cadet Program is to provide an opportunity for identified athletes and coaches to be developed at the Regional level which is the next step from Association level in the player and coach pathway. The focus of the program is to provide a training environment that concentrates on the delivery and development of skills under pressure where athletes learn to train at a higher intensity and for them to gain a stronger understanding of the off court preparation required to support the on court performance.

History

The Cadet Cup competition is the conclusion of the region run Cadet programs. The competition has grown over the past years with North West Netball Region bringing teams to compete in the competition. Regions conduct trials for the Regional Cadet Program. For further details on the Regional Cadet Program and trial dates please see below to contact the Regional Development Officer in your region.
