The South East Demons have bounced back from their 13-goal loss to the Coastal Sharks with a big win over the Wheatbelt Flames in Northam on Saturday night.
While it was good news for the Demons, it was not so good news for the Flames who slump to their third consecutive loss, after starting the season with a strong victory against the Rangers.
The Demons were on fire early, opening up a 21-8 lead at quarter time off the back of a sensational start from shooters Rebecca Lill and Amber Harvey, with the duo missing just one shot in the opening 15 minutes of play.
At the other end of the court, three players rotated through the shooting circle in the first term, with Sarah East starting strongly, while Tanya Anderson and Marene Peyper both shot 1/3.
Despite losing the second term 14-13, the Flames delivered a much more rounded 15 minutes of play, once again led by Sarah East who shot 10/11 under the post.
Trailing by 14 goals at the long break, the Flames were overpowered in the third term, with the Demons converting on 22 of their 25 attempts to open up a 25 goal lead at three quarter time.
Demons Head Coach Nicky Prothero turned to her bench in the final term, with Tegan Waenga introduced at Goal Attack, while Rebecca Lill continued to shoot well under the post.
The Flames outscored the Demons in the final term to cut the final margin to 23 goals.
The Demons will now face a week off before returning to take on the Warriors in Round 6, while the Flames will face the Souwest Jets this weekend.
