Program Snapshot

The Cadet Cup is a one-day carnival that provides an avenue for players  ages 13-17 years, in the Cadet Program to transfer and implement their skills within a team in match play against other regions. It is also a development opportunity for coaches and umpires to learn and apply their skills at the next level. The program underpins the “Develop A Diamond” and State Representative programs. The carnival is held on a rotating basis by the regions with Netball WA support. The carnival is an opportunity for Netball WA selectors to view athletes, coaches and umpires in a competition environment.

The purpose of the Regional Cadet Program is to provide an opportunity for identified athletes and coaches to to be developed at the Regional level which is the next step from Association in the player and coach pathway.  The focus of the program is to provide a training environment that concentrates on the delivery and development of skills under pressure where athletes learn to train at a higher intensity and for them to gain a stronger understanding of the off court preparation required to support the on court performance.
